Hebrews 8

• What are some differences between how God led Israel and how, since Jesus, God works in our lives through the Holy Spirit?
• What would it be like to be constantly mindful of the Holy Spirit during your day? 
• What does it mean to you to be completely forgiven forever?

Hebrews 7

Verses 1-10

• Reflect on how Jesus is (like Melchizedek) the King of Righteousness, the King of Peace, without beginning or end, greater than every human priesthood?

Verses 11-22

• Is there any other teacher that you know, any priest or spiritual leader of any sort, who can be compared to Jesus.  If so, how so.  If not, then who should we pay attention to?  Where do you need to "refocus"?

Verses 23-28

• Give some thought to what it means for Jesus to be eternal -- beyond time and space, and what that means for how He works in your life.  And what it means that He has atoned for you once and forever.

Hebrews 6

Verses 1-3

• How is your faith foundation holding up?  How can you bolster it?

Verses 4-12

• Is your spiritual life feeling productive?  What do you need to do to not feel distant from the Holy Spirit?  Is there something you can do regularly?

Verses 13-20

• How do you share in the hope, in the promises of God to Abraham and the promises to us through Jesus?
• What does it mean to you that those promises are absolute, unchanging, firm and secure?  Are there ways that could change your day if you focused on those promises and their faithfulness?

Hebrews 5

Verses 1-3

• In what ways has Jesus dealt gently with you and had patience with your weaknesses?
• What does it mean to you to have Him providing the atonement that makes you right with God?

Verses 4-6

• Melchizedek is a priest and a king.  That's a different model than the Levite priesthood.  In what ways is Jesus a priest and a king in your life?  How does He give you spiritual direction?  How does He rule in your life?

Verses 7-10

• What does it mean in your life that Jesus experienced suffering?  
• How have you learned faith through your hard experiences and suffering?

Verses 11-14

• How have you grown in your understanding of the scriptures and of Jesus?  in your spiritual maturity?
• In what ways are you learning to make difficult choices that bring you closer to Jesus?
